After Having Everything Taken Away, She Returns As A God

Chapter 177 - 177: Public Apology, Arrest (2)

Dressed in a simple T-shirt paired with light-colored jeans, her long hair was tied back in a ponytail with a black hairband.

Despite the simplicity of her attire, she still exuded a captivating charm.

As Si Fuqing approached the entrance of the Pei residence, Mrs. Pei suddenly knelt on the ground with a thud.

“Master! I have been blind to greatness and not only misunderstood you but also slandered you. I am truly sorry,” Mrs. Pei kowtowed repeatedly. “Please, please save our family!”

“You’re not dead yet, are you?” Si Fuqing remarked indifferently, walking past her. “There’s not rush, and please, don’t kneel before me. I don’t appreciate it.”

Mrs. Pei, too frightened to continue kneeling, quickly got up and ushered her inside. “Please, Master, come in.”

“Miss Si, the place is cleared out,” Pei Mengzhi approached, informing her. “I even gave the butler a holiday.” Mrs. Pei scolded him sharply, “It’s ‘Master’, not ‘Miss Sit !” Pei Mengzhi was speechless.

It seemed his mother had swapped one obsession for another.

Si Fuqing paid no attention to them and started pacing the yard. Mrs. Pei, trembling with fear, asked, “Master, have you noticed anything?”

“Planting locust trees in front of the house, especially in these key locations quite audacious,” Si Fuqing sarcastically applauded. “It’s a miracle you haven’t met with disaster given this setup.”

Mrs. Pei’s legs weakened, and she leaned against the wall, she pleaded, “Master, what should we do?”

“Cut down these trees, ” Si Fuqing suggested nonchalantly. “And consider who advised you to plant them for wealth. As a prominent family in Lin, you couldn’t even find a competent Master of Feng-Shui.”

After all, a Master of Feng-Shui, who only understands fortune-telling and geomantic layouts, is no match for a Master of Yin-yang, who knows the forces of Yin-Yang and the Five Elements and can craft talismans and set up barriers.

Si Fuqing took out a piece of paper from her bag, tore it a few times, and then blew the scraps into the air.

“What’s that, Miss Si?” Pei Mengzhi asked, perplexed. “It looks like a dog, or maybe a Pixiu.”

Si Fuqing responded coolly, “Do you need to know? Can you use it?”

Her paper talisman indeed resembled a dog-shaped Pixiu, something she had been teased about by JI Xingzhi.

Mrs. Pei gave Yu Xiheng a stern look and smacked his head. “Listen to the Master!”

Pei Mengzhi silenced himself again.

After inspecting the area, Si Fuqing straightened up and asked, “Where is your room?”

“Third floor, the third room,” Mrs. Pei quickly responded.

Si Fuqing ascended the stairs and opened the bedroom door.

The room was sparsely furnished; the bed was a bit messy, but the rest was tidy.

Pei Mengzhi felt a pang of shame.

Si Fuqing stopped in front of a wooden floorboard and ordered, “Pry it open.”

Without needing further instruction, Pei Mengzhi immediately fetched tools and began to work.

The floorboard cracked with a snap, revealing not a concrete base as expected, but an empty space.

Pei Mengzhi’s heart skipped a beat.

Si Fuqing knelt down and reached inside.

Seconds later, she pulled out a box with ancient, intricate patterns, resembling old text.

Opening the box revealed a porcelain urn and a chillingly eerie rectangular stone.

Mrs. Pei turned pale, but still worked out the courage to ask, “Master, what are these?”

“Ashes, a Yin plaque,” Si Fuqing replied casually. “Buried for over a decade. Don’t worry, your bedroom has them too. Quite equitable.”

Mrs. Pei nearly fainted at the revelation.

“Tsk, a familiar technique,” Si Fuqing suddenly smiled, her eyes curling. “Pity that after all these years, they’ve made no progress. Utter waste.” Yu Xiheng didn’t understand but dared not ask.

“I’ll take this box,” Si Fuqing said, as she stood up. “The rest is up to you.” Mrs. Pei, shaking, held back her words.

Si Fuqing turned and reminded, “Think about who would be so familiar with your family’s layout.”

Mrs. Pei shivered, “Do you mean, someone within the family?!”

Without another word, Si Fuqing shouldered her bag and lazily unlocked her bicycle, “I’m leaving.”

Pei Mengzhi wanted to stop her but was held back by Mrs. Pei, she said, “We’re lucky the Master graced our house today. Don’t bother her further.”

“But our family’s situation…” Pei Mengzhi was concerned. Though he resented Mrs. Pei, she was still his mother, and he wanted to save her.

But with no solution even from the revered Master Miaoguang, they had no choice but to seek Si Fuqing’s help.

“Let’s first ensure your safety, ” Mrs. Pei calmed down. “I’ll discuss with your father which branch of the family might be plotting against us..”
