Chapter 201: Dungeon Finale

FWANG!

[Quest Complete!]

[Rewards: 25.00+ Stamina, 25.00+ Health, Mana Upgrade 1+, All Stats Refreshed, 25,000 BP, ???]

It hurts!

Everything\'s over, but my head... I need to rest-

WOM!

[The following statuses have been recovered: Stamina, HP, Mana, and Aura]

"...!"

A wave of energy washed over me, restoring every depleted stat and all exhaustion.

haah...

Holy shit, that headache what just happened to me?

I was going through it all but I guess it\'s all done.

Never mind resting then.

I regained all my composure and took a deep breath in.

huuu...haah...

So that\'s what "all stats refreshed" meant.

If the system kept handing out quests with this perk, I was happy to go all out from the start.

No point in conserving energy.

But I was curious... what did those question marks in the rewards mean?

It had to be something special.

Since there was no way I was \'just\' getting normal rewards, after defeating an Ancient Arch Bishop.

Especially one with the dark elemental attribute.

Those kinds of users are essentially counters to most elemental attributes.

[Transfering All Rewards... Complete!]

[Due to absorbing the Ancient Bishops Remains, You\'ve gained a new ability!]

FWANG

[Special Ability:] - [Grade: 1] - Pocket Realm: this ability allows you to connect to a pocket dimension within your mind uniquely. This Mindscape serves as a personal spiritual world and can store up to five items. At will, you can summon any of these items, materializing them onto a desired part of your body. These items will merge seamlessly, transforming through a distortion.

You can enter this mental realm in spirit form not physically, allowing yourself to interact with these stored items and your own world.

Wait... If I gained this ability by absorbing the bishop\'s remains, then this isn\'t a gift from the system... it was the bishop?

That meant I still had another reward left?

"Isn\'t that right system?" I spoke waiting for the screen to appear.

FWANG!

[That\'s correct Mr. Axel!]

[The energy you\'ve absorbed from the bishop was all the energy within the orb you crushed. This not only contained a manifestation of the entity\'s previous abilities but also a spell that allows portal summons of weaponry, which has been converted into the following special ability: Pocket Realm.]

That\'s amazing, I wouldn\'t have known if this Bishop did it on purpose or Maledictus did it out of generosity, but I assume I could\'ve taken the orb and used it for something else.

But I already crushed it, there\'s no point in wondering over what-ifs.

"So what\'s the question marks ability then system?"

FWANG!

[Special Stat: Fate\'s Reprieve [5/5] - When faced with an attack that would result in certain death, Fate\'s Reprieve will automatically activate, allowing you to narrowly avoid the fatal blow or situation entirely, you\'ll gain temporary immunity via the ability: Mitigation\'s Phenomena without mana cost.

If the user ends up dying, resurrection will be activated after an hour prior to the users death.]

"...!"

"WHAT?!"

My eyes widened, scanning the screen in disbelief.

Five reprieves from death... It was a gift beyond anything I could have imagined.

This ability could save me not only in the upcoming arcs but in the most dangerous situations the story had to offer, including a potential war arc and any events that threatened Jan\'s life.

I was stunned, overwhelmed with shock and gratitude.

This was a power that could change everything.

If this was the reward I received for defeating Maledictus, then I wouldn\'t complain.

Not one bit.

...

...

...

The depths of the Abyssal Dungeon were a relentless gauntlet of challenges.

Each chamber I entered presented a new puzzle, a hidden trap, or a ferocious monster.

I navigated this damned dungeon, solving countless riddles etched into ancient stone and battling packs of creatures I had never seen before.

Luckily, I figured there was only one mini-boss and one main boss in this presumably high-graded dungeon.

Though there was no confirmation of its grade, I simply assumed it would be.

My abilities, as usual, proved invaluable. I was getting better at anticipating attacks with each encounter, and my utilization of mana and aura had improved significantly.

But it wasn\'t easy.

I faced a colossal serpent with scales the color of decaying flesh, its body riddled with open sores that oozed corrosive venom.

Without a quest for this monster, I relied on mitigation, aura and the finisher: divine severance to kill it.

As I progressed, I stumbled upon even more monsters.

I fought countless Crimson Paladins, fallen knights in armor stained crimson with the blood of their victims, wielding corrupted greatswords and shields adorned with twisted symbols of justice.

Towards the end, it grew even more difficult.

I encountered Mana-Scarred Ursines, bears that negated the effects of mana.

Their presence was strange in this seemingly unholy dungeon of the abyss, but perhaps it somehow related to the theme?

Despite the struggle, I persevered, upgrading parts of my sword and bow mastery along the way.

I was driven by the promise of rewards and the knowledge that I was altering the course of the story.

...

...

...

As I paused to catch my breath, wiping off the remaining blood stains off my face with a ragged cloth I found near the end of the hallway I glanced at my smartwatch.

To my surprise, it read 1:20 PM. Only two hours had passed since I left my dorm at 11:20 AM.

So, time flows differently in dungeons? That explains why adventurers can spend days, even weeks, exploring these places without aging.

But the rest would have to wait. Right before me were the doors to the boss\'s room.
