Chapter 281: Panicking Larzen

"Hello sir, here\'s your item."

"Thank you, here\'s the payment."

Following a swift conversation to settle the payment, the White Clover staff exited his room, giving him the chance to finally jump up and down in celebration after a tremendous success.

\'Who would\'ve thought that I would be so talented in auctions?\' Shye praised himself, ill-informed that his final win against Larzen was nothing but pure luck.

With how much he overspent his coin reserves on the unique-tier skill and the four-piece high-grade gemstone set, his remaining 321,500 coins would normally not be enough to secure him any of the three (S) tier crafting materials.

However, through some stroke of luck, the supposedly "big dawgs" with emergency funds thought that they would be the main star as Shye and the others already spent a lot of money on the prior items.

Hence, they didn\'t immediately avail the emergency funds, only reaching out to their banks and loaners upon realizing that things wouldn\'t be as easy as they imagined.

Well, the fees were exceedingly high, so availing the funds recklessly was not advisable.

This brief stroke of luck, combined with Shye\'s decisive action in acquiring the prime dragon scale, enabled him to obtain it purely through beginner\'s luck.

He had no emergency funds to depend on, after all.

Nonetheless, even though he only had 9,500 silver coins in his possession, he didn\'t regret a single one of his purchases.

With a joyful heart, Shye observed the remainder of the auction, knowing that there was a rule for a systematic exit, especially for those from the super deluxe rooms and VIP rooms.

They cannot leave early and have to exit one by one "to ensure maximum privacy and safety" as per White Clover.

Shye thought that this specific rule by the auction house was rather strange, however, he had to comply since he chose to attend the event.

After a few more moments, the occupants of various VIP rooms were prepared to partake in a fierce and chaotic bidding war, as their "ammunition," the emergency silver coins, arrived in their bank accounts.

As for Larzen, he was panic-stricken.

His emergency funds had yet to arrive, and if the "lightning-fast" emergency transaction didn\'t come through quickly enough, he would miss the opportunity to bid for the second item, leaving him with only one more chance.

If he somehow lost the bid for the last item, then his life…

Shivering as he thought of failure\'s dire consequences, Larzen couldn\'t help but stand up, desperately pacing back and forth as he fervently prayed for the auction to slow down and for his emergency funds to arrive faster.

\'Sh*t! Sh*t! Why hadn\'t the funds arrived yet?!\' Larsen inwardly raged in anxiety.

At this point, the frenzied bidding war for the second item, the antlers of an (S) tier Void Elk, was in full swing, driving him almost to the brink of insanity with anxiety.

Fortunately, a minute before the bidding war concluded, a voice suddenly sounded beside his right ear, telling him that his 70,000 silver coins emergency fund had been deposited successfully.

There was no one inside the VIP room except him and White Clover\'s designated servant, however, the voice sounded as if the bank\'s staff member was right next to him.

This was precisely how communication talismans functioned, and Larzen was well-acquainted with their operation.

Thus, there was not a trace of surprise in his eyes; only sheer delight.

\'Yes! Finally!\' He inwardly celebrated, swiftly shifting his attention towards the ongoing bidding war.

With a whopping 377,000 silver coins in his bank account, Larzen was confident of at least obtaining one of the two remaining (S) tier crafting materials.

"310,000!" He exclaimed, his eyes ablaze with the determination to obtain the second item.

Unfortunately, things didn\'t go his way easily as a few people who were fully determined to obtain the (S) tier antlers, continued bidding with reckless abandon, not caring about the consequences of using up all of the emergency funds.

In their minds, acquiring such an item would significantly enhance their strength and enable them to repay the exorbitant interest on the emergency loans.

This crazy, all-in attitude was something Larzen was reluctant to adapt as he knew how hard it was to pay the loan\'s interests.

Hence, once the gentleman from super deluxe room twenty-seven, another one of his familiar foes, bid 360,000 to obtain the antlers, Larzen chose to give up.

\'Everything\'s fine…there should be no one now who could contend against me…if it comes down to it, then I\'ll just go all-in myself!\' Larzen consoled himself after yet another defeat.

He surrendered because he believed he could acquire the third and final item for slightly less than the price of the second one.

Earlier, as the price went past 330,000 silver coins, Larzen noticed that others stopped bidding, making him think that except for the guy who occupied super deluxe room twenty-seven, no one else had the funds to compete with him for the third item.

Since he didn\'t have to acquire this particular item (as he only needed to acquire at least one of the three), Larzen thought that it would be a smart move to give this item up and obtain the last one for 335,000 silver coins, allowing him to save a whopping 30,000 silver coins of emergency funds.

A smart move if one thinks about it logically.

Unbeknownst to Larzen, 360,000 silver coins was his opponent\'s last bid.

If he pushed through and bid 365,000, he would\'ve obtained the antlers, unfortunately, his "smart idea" led him to believe that giving up on the antlers was the correct choice.

With full confidence in securing the third item, Larzen swiftly moved on from the void antlers, eagerly anticipating Liu Meixiu\'s unveiling of the final item, which he was certain would be his.
