A Husband For Killer Mom

Chapter 257 - 257 Ch. 257 Elliot’s Nightmare

That was what this middle-aged man said in an extremely high tone of authority. If Mei Yin were still the innocent, whiny girl she was a few years ago, her knees would have trembled in fear, and let this man enter without knowing what the man would do to a helpless child.

But now Mei Yin was not the weak and easily bullied girl she used to be. Moreover, she got news from Jamie that this person often tormented Elliot’s mental health when the boy still couldn’t speak.

Hence, Mei Ying would not let this man be alone with Elliot.

“Okay, please come in.” even so, she couldn’t oppose this man because Song Lei was her master’s right-hand man and Loraine’s lover.

Song Lei raised an eyebrow when he saw that Mei Yin did not leave the room but sat back and relaxed on the sofa, reading a book.

“I want to talk privately with the young master.”

Mei Yin snorted sarcastically at this. Obviously, this man wanted her away so he could talk to Elliot one-on-one. Mei Yin was even more unwilling to leave the child’s side, who was only lowering his head, trembling in fear.

“Miss Anxia wants me to accompany the young master for twenty-four hours no matter who meets him. Miss Anxia doesn’t even trust her mother; how can she trust you?”

.....

Song Lei’s jaw tightened, and it was apparent that his killing aura was eager to obliterate this weak-looking young girl. Even a child like Elliot was shuddering, and his vision was moistened from the gathering tears.

Little Elliot closed his eyes while biting his lip to prevent tears from falling, but it was in vain. He didn’t want Mei Yin to be punished by his grandmother and planned to follow Song Lei’s orders. However, he was too afraid of the consequences he would suffer once he was alone with this man.

Before this, he had utterly forgotten Song Lei’s existence and rashly agreed to his mother’s request to consent to come with Anxia. If he hadn’t forgotten that there was a terrifying Song Lei who could return at any moment, perhaps he would have refused his mother’s request.

“Mei Yin, who do you work for? You don’t work for Qiao Anxia.”

Mei Yin closed the book she was reading and looked straight at the older man standing in the room doorway.

“Correct. I don’t work for Anxia, ??but I don’t work for Loraine Shu, either. Don’t forget, my real master is Deke Shu.”

It was evident that Song Lei was somewhat surprised to hear this, but he managed to hide it quickly before Mei Yin noticed the change in his expression.

Since when did Mei Yin dare claim she was Deke Shu’s minion? As he recalls, Mei Yin was brought here and considered Loraine Shu to be her mistress. Why was she now challenging him as if she was sure Deke Shu would support her?

Was it possible that… Deke Shu had met this girl and told her she was his granddaughter? No. It was impossible. Otherwise, the girl would claim Deke as her grandfather instead of her master.

“Maybe you don’t know about this, but I got a mission from the master. I have to serve and do all of Miss Anxia’s requests. So, anything you want to talk to Elliot will have to go through Miss Anxia or me.”

Mei Yin said it out loud to remind the scar-faced man of her essential role here, but she wanted to tell Elliot that the boy didn’t need to be afraid of this man anymore.

Elliot caught the meaning of Mei Yin’s sentence and hid his relieved smile. He was grateful to be able to meet his mother and that his mother came here. Even though he was still young, Elliot could feel and distinguish between those who truly loved him and those who were pretending.

In this place, the ones who sincerely loved him were aunt Jamie and sister Mei Yin. As for his grandmother… Elliot had no idea whether his grandmother loved him or not.

At times the woman seemed to care for him and feel proud of him sincerely, but on the one hand, he felt an unfriendly gaze from the woman so that Elliot could not read his grandmother’s true feelings.

But Elliot knew the person who ruled and controlled this place was his grandmother. Because of that, Elliot tried his best to please his grandmother and not to be naughty.

Now he doesn’t need to think about how to please someone and is free to do whatever he wants―his mother said so, and now Mei Yin defended him fearlessly against his trauma’s source and his nightmare.

Elliot couldn’t hold back the relief, so tears kept coming out of the corners of his eyes and dripping down.

“Are you crying?”

Elliot’s body stiffened as he heard a cold deep voice aimed his way.

Mei Yin immediately glanced at Elliot and caught the drop by drop from above, wetting the tiny hand gripping his pants. The Asian girl got up and stood in front of Elliot, who lowered his head to block Song Lei’s hawk gaze.

“What do you want to talk to him about? If you have nothing to talk about, leave!”

Song Lei glared at Mei Yin as if he was about to pounce on his prey while Mei Yin remained unmoved from her spot as if the piercing gaze meant nothing to her.

“There’s still something I want to talk to him about.” was Song Lei’s short reply without shifting his sharp gaze toward the girl. “I won’t be able to talk to him if you get in my way like this.”

In other words, Song Lei wanted to talk to Elliot while looking into the little boy’s eyes.

This was Song Lei’s real goal. As long as he looked the child in the eye, it was inevitable that the boy would no longer want to follow his mother back to London.

Mei Yin didn’t know what this sly man was planning, but she knew that Elliot was currently at his weakest, and his mind might break if this person didn’t get out of there soon.

‘Miss Anxia, ??hurry back home. I won’t be able to hold this guy down any longer.’

Even if she had Deke Shu’s backing, she wouldn’t be able to restrain this wicked man if Song Lei insisted on talking to Elliot.
